Settlement and Integration
We provide a range of support to newcomers that help with adjusting to life in Canada. Learning to navigate new systems and rebuild a sense of community is never easy. Our programs promote community involvement and social inclusion, leading to greater independence and expectancy achievement.
Support Services
A good home often holds the key to the family’s well-being. So, when they need a support system, we can offer a safe space to chat about what’s most important. We can work in 1-on-1 sessions or group session formats to build a plan of support toward reaching personal goals.
Education and Learning
We support learning and mentorship for children and parents, providing the tools for success. Children have brighter futures, and parents learn alongside their children. Cycles of disadvantage are broken when communities get the right support and access to better opportunities.
Mentorship
Our activities cultivate community strengths and resident engagement to foster positive change. From resident councils, ambassador initiatives and community planning meetings, we encourage members to participate in training that develops their leadership skills and builds an effective community voice.
Civic Engagement
As communities change and grow, our main priority is providing responsive, culturally-sensitive, effective programs and services. Civic engagement programs are key to building resilient, healthy and thriving communities. With this in mind, we offer Nigerian newcomers in Northern Saskatchewan opportunities for community involvement and to build on their own personal networks.
Health and Awareness
We provide education and resources to the members and advocate for policies that promote health and wellness. We also engage by organizing events and campaigns to raise awareness about specific health issues and encourage people to take action to improve their health.
